FIREFIGHTER/AEMT (paramedic)
The City of Birmingham, MI is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/AEMT. Duties include fire suppression, emergency medical care, maintaining equipment, apparatus and buildings; participating in daily drills, protecting life and property; performing fire inspection duties & miscellaneous duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Possession of high school diploma or equivalent;
State of Michigan Firefighter II Certification;
State of Michigan AEMT or National Registry AEMT certification;
Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes;
Valid Mich. Operator's License w/ good driving record;
Physical condition appropriate for the position.
Applicants must pass both the written exam and physical ability test (CPAT) prior to application offered through the Conference of Western Wayne (CWW) Firefighter Testing Program. The written exam score is valid for three (3) years and the CPAT results are valid for one (1) year.

Written exam offered March 12, 2011 and April 9, 2011. Physical ability test (CPAT) offered April 16, 2011. More information and registration available through the Schoolcraft College Assessment Center at 734.462.4806. Please note, asigned physician’s release form is required for the CPAT.

Salary range $39,242 - $60,012 + comprehensive benefit package. Please submit Firefighter/AEMT Application, copies of valid test certificates and copies of Firefighter/AEMT credentials.
