Location: City Hall 300 Monroe NW GR MI, Michigan
Graduation from a standard high school or a GED. Michigan Firefighter I and II certifications and Medical First Responder Certification. Applicants must submit their Michigan Firefighter I and II certifications with their application. Proof of Medical First Responder certification must be received by 5:00 p.m. June 28, 2010. Certifications may be submitted as attachments to the online application.
ONLY THE TOP GROUP OF CANDIDATES AT EACH PHASE OF THE TESTING WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ON IN THE PROCESS.
The following information includes a TENTATIVE SCHEDULE for the Firefighter recruit process. THERE WILL BE NO ALTERNATE TEST DATE.
Applications accepted: May 12, 2010 - May 25, 2010 (11:59 p.m.)
Test Administration: May 27, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.
Test Location: Ballroom C, DeVos Center 303 Monroe Ave. NW
Agility test and skills examination: June 3,4,7, and 8, 2010
Interview of candidates: June 14 - 17, 2010
Physicals for those selected: June 29-30 and July 1-2, 2010
Starting Date: July 12, 2010
Candidates for positions of this class must meet the physical requirements demanded of the position.
A multiple choice examination pertaining to general firefighting will be conducted on May 27, 2010. Questions for this exam will be selected from THE FIREFIGHTERS HANDBOOK: Firefighting and Emergency Response, 3rd Edition, ISBN-10: 1418073202 (Delmar Publishing).
